A Note from the Music CommitteeYour music committee has been hard at work this summer putting together concert sets for the 2027 concert season. First, we selected sets from the past year that we played well or that we really liked but had to cut from the program due to time constraints. Second, we looked through the repertoire from recent years and selected tunes that we thought would work well together. Finally, we dug deeper into our tune history for old favorites or for tunes that should be old favorites but haven’t been played in recent memory. Some of you made suggestions as to tunes you would like to see included. Please know that we looked at all of these and, if they didn’t make the cut, we will consider those tunes again next year. As we progress through the coming year working on these tunes, many of you will have ideas for how the music should be played. Every one of us on the music committee values your thoughts and we will work together with Annie to put on the best performance possible. To that end, we ask that you not overload Annie with emails but reach out to any one of us – or all of us – with your thoughts. As you print out the concerts sets, note the date on the bottom of each page. Prior to each rehearsal please check that you have the most current version of every tune. We hope you enjoy playing the music we selected as much as we do. Looking forward to making great music together!
