In Memory of Evelyn MurrayOne of our club's founders, Evelyn Murray, passed away on January 11, 2025 in Surrey, England. She was also a founder of the NH Highland Games at Loon Mountain and a member of many organizations promoting Scottish music and dance. Educated at MIT, she became an engineer when few women worked in the field, then later became an accountant. Her contributions to the Scottish music scene include producing recordings, training dance teachers, and bringing the Atholl Highlanders Pipe Band to play in Athol, MA for the first time. She lived in Cambridge, MA for many years, running a Scottish goods shop and making kilts, until moving to England in 2019. Those who knew her remember her as generous and kind, and even those of us who never had the chance to meet her still feel the impact of her tireless dedication to Scottish culture.
