Our May 17th Gathering

This month we will be joined by fiddler Ed Pearlman and highland dancer Laura Scott for a workshop about playing music for different styles of Scottish and Cape Breton dance.

Arrival time: Be in place and ready for sound check at 2pm.

Attire: All black, or black with plaid.

Board News

Welcome Jonathan Heard to the Board! Jon will be filling out Annie’s term which ends in June 2027. The Board formally appointed Jon at its May meeting. Jon (viola) has been working on our web committee and has brought lots of great idea to us. Jon’s reorganization of the website will be gradually implemented this month. Check it out!! We are delighted to have him join the Board.

One Year Board Appointed Position

Concord Concert Summary

The NHSMC orchestra played its first concert of the season, on April 26 at CCMS to an enthusiastic audience. Thank you to all the performers who gave it their all. Our next concert will be at the Portsmouth Library on May 16.

Scholarships Reminder

We received two grants for scholarships this year. Any member who wants to attend a summer program, take lessons, take online courses, etc. is welcome to apply.

Ever wonder what your Board does? Join us for Board Meetings! All meetings are open to our members. We meet (usually) the first Wednesday of the month at 7 PM on Zoom. Meetings are an hour or less and we would welcome anyone who is interested to see how we run the organization. Send an email to nhscottishmusic@gmail.com and we’ll send you the Zoom link.
