The October workshop will be led by NHSMC music director Annelise Papinsick, and will be centered around the topic of conducting for concerts. 

 Topics covered will include basic conducting technique, as well as what musicians should be observing about a conductor while playing (and how a conductor expects the musicians to respond to these observations!).  Particular attention will be paid to the kinds of conducting and expression that NHSMC musicians are likely to use while playing a concert, and the context of Annelise being the conductor. 

 The workshop will be part lecture and part practical-- bring your concert music and a pencil!  Handouts will be made available.

Following a break for stretching, refreshments, and visiting, we resume with our regular tune circle.

We always try to have extra copies of the music for newcomers, however ear-players are welcome as well.
