Mari Black makes a welcome return to lead a workshop focused on expression, style, and arranging. To serve this, here is a rather unusual set type (slow strathspey --> jig) consisting of some really beautiful tunes that have LOTS of room for exploration!

Slow strathspey: Miss Mariane Oliphant (G), by Robert Mackintosh
Miss Mariane Oliphant (with bowings)Jig: Mrs Oswald of Auchincruive (G), by Robert Mackintosh
Jig: Lisnagun (D), by Brendan Ring
Mari writes: Please note that I'm sending along two versions of the strathspey -- one with bowings (which I think the bowed string players will much appreciate!), and one without, which will likely be equally appreciated by non-bowed instruments. haha!..
For more about the tunes check out the Tune Tales
Everyone please arrive in time for a prompt 1 p.m. start.
Following a break for stretching, refreshments, and visiting, we resume with our regular tune circle.
We always try to have extra copies of the music for newcomers, however ear-players are welcome as well.
