A rehearsal of our concert program, followed by playing tunes written by our members.
The March gathering, dedicated to hearing and playing tunes written by our members, is cancelled. So we will hear the work from the composers next month.
NOTE: 2:00 pm start
A multi-instrumentalist and brilliant fiddler in various Celtic traditions, Skip will share some ideas about how instruments, even fiddles, in an ensemble, can contribute to backing up the tunes.
For our December gathering we will play through the concert sets as we begin to prepare for a pair of spring concerts.
In addition to playing through our monthly tunes we’ll begin an in-depth exploration of the concert sets presented by your music committee.
Our June gathering will be a recap of the music from the 2023/24 program year. After playing through the June tunes presented by our Tune Master, we’ll play through all the tunes we learned throughout the year, discussing which ones we’d like to include in our concerts for the coming year.
Dominique has a passion for melody-driven dance music and responsive, rhythmic accompaniment, as well as for Gaelic songs, airs, and 18th century harp tunes.
Harpist Dominique Dodge will lead our May workshop, offering a set of Scottish tunes, drawing on Gaelic and West Highland repertoire from the 18th and 19th centuries. Note that this gathering is a departure from our usual 2nd Sunday to avoid meeting on Mother’s Day.

Our March gathering will be a rehearsal of all our concert tunes. You don’t have to play in one of our spring concerts to enjoy this event. We welcome newcomers to all our gatherings. Note that clocks “spring ahead” that weekend so don’t forget to change your clock or you’ll be an hour late!
Accordionist Jeremiah McLane will teach our February workshop. Fluent in many different genres of music, most of his work now - both composing and playing - is with traditional Celtic and French music.
Gordon Peery will lead our gathering as we play through some of our tunes that we’ll be playing in concerts later in the season.
